Welsh tennis prospect Mimi Xu and fellow Briton Mika Stojsavljevic have reached the Wimbledon girls’ doubles final.

Swansea-born Xu, 16, and 15-year-old Stojsavljevic, from London, are through to a first junior Grand Slam final having beaten Julie Pastikova and Julia Stusek 6-4 6-1 in their semi-final.

They will face American second seeds Tyra Caterina Grant and Iva Jovic in Sunday’s final.

Xu, who is number nine in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) rankings, said last month she was “incredibly proud and humbled” to have broken into the top 10.

She reached the quarter-finals of the girls’ doubles at this year’s French Open with fellow Brit Hannah Klugman.

Xu also made the singles quarter-finals and the doubles semi-finals at the Australian Open in Melbourne in January.
