I will tell you this, there is no way people are going to be rational about this at all because they are seeing so much of themselves in this as opposed to seeing Bronnie James, like Bronnie is a symbol of something and more directly, lebron is a symbol of something here.
I have friends of mine like getting into full blown Instagram arguments.
You ever got to an Instagram argument?
You know how hard that is to get into a ig direct message argument with a friend of yours who is telling you you don’t know what it means to be a father.
And I’m like, that’s the point chief.
This ain’t about fatherhood, this ain’t about, about black symbolism.
You know what I mean?
Like this ain’t about that.
Secondarily, there’s going to be a player who knows there’s going to be some player who emerges from not being drafted to being a contributor to some NBA team this season.
And if the Lakers are struggling, then Bronnie will be looked at as man, y’all didn’t, why didn’t y’all get him as opposed to giving Bronnie a four year 7.9 guaranteed million dollar deal?
That’s, that’s unfair to him in this way, like, you know, maybe he wanted this, but it feels like it’s gonna be an unfair amount of heat coming this way because so many other people were involved in making this decision.
And a year ago this kid suffered a cardiac arrest just because we didn’t see it.
Like we saw with, uh DEMAR Hamlin in Cincinnati, the football player don’t mean it didn’t happen, don’t mean it wasn’t just as scary.
So, the fact that he’s actually on a floor playing basketball is an accomplishment in itself.
It just doesn’t mean it has to be there.
Like part of me wonders, man.
Would this 19 year old be happier in college getting nil money playing Call of Duty.
