USC needs more high-end offensive linemen. How does a four-star pickup sound? Josh Henson did some good work by bringing in Carde Smith on Monday. The Auburn decommit gives USC not just a highly-rated player, but another recruiting win versus an SEC program. This is a roster boost but also a reputation-improving recruiting pickup. There are some notes worth sharing about Carde Smith, so let’s dive into the notebook as the Trojans beef up their Class of 2025:
HIGHLY COVETED
Carde Smith was very much in demand. Trojans Wire recruiting writer Don James told us that “Florida State, Miami, Colorado, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Tennessee were the other top offers for Smith, who stands at 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds.”
Getting someone who was being pursued by a lot of other top programs represents a really good recruiting win for USC.
TOP-RATED IN HIS CLASS
BREAKING: #USC lands the commitment of Mobile (Ala.) four-star offensive tackle Carde Smith. He becomes commitment No. 16 in the #Trojans class of 2025.
