Tom Aspinall put his “sour grapes” toward Jon Jones aside for a realistic breakdown of the UFC 309 main event vs. Stipe Miocic.
Despite his many efforts to get Jones (27-1 MMA, 21-1 UFC) and Miocic (20-4 MMA, 14-4 UFC) to fight him, interim champion Aspinall (15-3 MMA, 8-1 UFC) will be an observer when the heavyweight title fight goes down in Saturday’s headliner at Madison Square Garden in New York (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPNews, ESPN+).
It’s looking grim that Aspinall will even get the winner of the fight, but nevertheless he has still put his analyst cap on to examine the Jones vs. Miocic matchup in detail for “Tom Aspinall’s Fight Lab” on TNT Sports.
With the help of video highlights and in-person demonstrations, Aspinall highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of both the champion and challenger going into the event.
Check out the video above to see Aspinall’s complete breakdown of the UFC 309 title fight, as well as the co-main event rematch between Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler.
