Terrance Howard, a former Alabama football walk-on cornerback, has died several days after he was struck by a vehicle in North Carolina, according to a report.
Howard, who committed to play for Nick Saban‘s final team at Alabama in the 2023 college football season out of Missouri City, Texas, entered the transfer portal in April. He later committed to play for North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina, in May.
According to a report from Houston-based TV station KPRC-TV, citing his mother and stepfather, Howard was involved in a minor crash on Interstate 85 near Salisbury, North Carolina on Monday. He then exited his vehicle to check on the people in the other vehicle; after making sure they were alright, he was then struck by another passing vehicle.
He died on Thursday.
Per KPRC-TV, Howard’s family has received support both from NCCU and Alabama, with Saban also reaching out to them.
