Caleb Downs was named the winner of the award which is given annually to the nation’s most outstanding high school senior football player and is the most distinguished individual award given in high school football.

Earlier today the preseason candidates for the 2024 Bronko Nagurski Trophy were announced. The trophy is presented annually to the nation’s most outstanding college defensive player.

Ten former All-American Bowl athletes were named to the watch list.

  • Patrick Jenkins (Tulane)

  • Deontae Lawson (Alabama)

  • Smael Mondon (Georgia)

  • Malachi Moore (Alabama)

  • Nic Scourton (Texas A&M)

  • JT Tuimoloau (Ohio State)

  • Mykel Williams (Georgia)

  • Tyleik Williams (Ohio State)

Watch the annual East vs. West matchup on Saturday, January 11, 2025, in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The All-American Bowl will be nationally televised, live on NBC and Peacock at 1:00 PM ET, and will feature the nation’s top 100 high school football players.
