The 124th United States Women’s Amateur Championship is being held at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The tournament opened Monday and continues on the par-71 course. The first two days consist of 18-hole stroke play before moving to match play for the remainder of the event.

Lady Vols’ incoming freshman golfer Sophie Christopher did not advance to the match play portion of the event.

She recorded a two-round score of 157 in stroke play (76, 81).

Christopher, a native of Germantown, Tennessee and graduate of Houston High School, qualified for the 2024 US Amateur after a runner-up finish in the Tennessee Girls’ Junior Championship and finishing seventh at the Tennessee Amateur Championship.

She earned All-State honors from the Tennessee Sports Writers Association, making the Class AA team in 2022.
