Sheffield United bring in Posh skipper Burrows

Sheffield United have made their fifth signing of the summer by completing a deal for Peterborough captain Harrison Burrows.

The 22-year-old, who can play on the left of defence or midfield, had been with Posh since the age of six and scored both goals in their EFL Trophy final victory against Wycombe last season.

Burrows made 185 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 20 goals, and also helped them win promotion to the Championship in 2021.

He follows Jamie Shackleton, Sam McCallum, Kieffer Moore and Callum O’Hare in joining Chris Wilder’s side since their relegation from the Premier League last season.

“It’s time to step up. I’m relishing another chance in the Championship,” Burrows told Sheffield United’s website.

“The size of the club speaks for itself – the manager and the players that’s already come in this summer, it was a given for me really.

“The manager has told me what he wants from me and I’m excited by the type of games that I’ll be playing in.”

The Blades said he had signed for an undisclosed fee and agreed a contract at Bramall Lane until 2028.
