Who’s next for Ilia Topuria after beating Charles Oliveira? | UFC 317
MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn plays matchmaker and looks ahead to what makes sense for Ilia Topuria.
Ilia Topuria achieved the rarest of feats at UFC 317 when he claimed a second divisional title all while undefeated.
After vacating the featherweight strap earlier this year, Topuria (17-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) moved up to lightweight and dismantled Charles Oliveira (35-11 MMA, 23-11 UFC) for a first-round knockout to become the 10th name in company history to join the two-division title club.
Topuria is unlike any champion before him, however, in that he’s never experienced a blemish on his record. He became a marquee name for UFC in the process, and now there’s no telling what Topuria is capable of.
“El Matador” has a number of potential opponents on the horizon, but who will be first to challenge for his 155-pound belt? Watch the video above for thoughts and analysis on Topuria’s future after UFC 317.
