Following numerous days of intense negotiations between the pair of Italian giants, the swap deal involving Belgian winger Alexis Saelemaekers and Englishman Tammy Abraham between Milan and Roma has been given the white smoke.
Daniele Longo reports that Saelemaekers will depart the Rossonerri to join the capital club, in which the the Giallorossi will include an additional €7m to the counter-part in order to acquire the former Chelsea and Aston Villa forward.
Despite Roma having requested a fee of €10m initially, coach Daniele De Rossi’s side have ultimately gave into the Diavolo’s terms as very little time remains until the window comes to a close.
Rather than being permanent moves, the swap deal will involve both players joining their respective clubs on a one-season dry loan.
With Paulo Dybala staying and the arrival of last year’s La Liga leading goal-scorer Artem Dovbyk, Roma feel that Tammy Abraham is no longer necessary and that additional depth out-wide would be more crucial.
Likewise, Milan no longer consider the Belgian international part of their plans following his loan-spell to Bologna last season and view Abraham as the ideal back-up to former Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
