RSU men’s linksmen named Cobalt Golf All-American Scholars

Jul. 26—The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) has recently announced that three student-athletes from Rogers State men’s golf team have been recognized as Cobalt Golf All-American Scholars.

Julian Alanis, Elliot-Han Monteremal and Ty Nicar have all received this prestigious honor for their outstanding performance both in the classroom and on the golf course during the 2023-24 season.

To be eligible for this award, individuals must have completed at least their sophomore year academically and athletically. They should have also participated in at least 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, maintained a stroke average under 78.0 and achieved a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.

In addition to these academic and athletic achievements, recipients must demonstrate high moral character and be in good standing at their respective college or university.

Cobalt Golf, the organization behind this award, is a direct-to-consumer golf brand that specializes in developing premium laser rangefinders for golfers who expect nothing but the best from their equipment.

They are dedicated to producing highly accurate, durable and user-friendly products that offer exceptional optical quality at a more affordable price.

The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) was founded in 1958 and serves as the professional organization for men’s collegiate golf coaches.

It supports coaches from various divisions — including the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA — by providing educational opportunities, valuable resources and promoting the overall development of coaches as mentors, teachers, and leaders. The GCAA also recognizes and celebrates the achievements of its members and their student-athletes in academic, athletic and civic pursuits.
