Payne Denman has joined the Tennessee men’s golf team as an assistant coach.

Vols’ head coach Brennan Webb announced the addition of Denman to his staff. He joins Webb and assistant coach Bo Andrews, who are both beginning their seventh season at Tennessee.

“We are excited to add Payne to our staff,” Webb said. “As a world class amateur player who still competes at the elite levels of amateur golf, Payne brings a unique perspective to our program that will be a tremendous resource for our players.

“As well, Payne’s familiarity with our players and staff will allow him to fit seamlessly into our program and allow him to hit the ground running.”

Denman served as an assistant coach at Middle Tennessee State during the past two seasons. During the 2023-24 campaign, he helped the Blue Raiders win a team championship at the Daniel Island Collegiate.

He played college golf at Middle Tennessee State from 2012-15 before transferring to Florida. With the Gators, he recorded 26 rounds of par or better and finished tied for 15th in the program’s individual rankings.
