On-loan Celtic striker Jonny Kenny fired Shamrock Rovers through to a Champions League second qualifying round tie against Sparta Prague.
The 21-year-old netted a double as the Dublin side held on with 10 men to complete a 2-1 win over Vikingur Reykjavik.
Rovers seized control early on as Kenny scored twice in the opening 20 minutes before substitute Nikolaj Hansen got a goal back for the Icelandic visitors on the hour.
Just as in the goalless first leg, Shamrock finished with 10 men as Jack Byrne collected a second booking, but they held on for a lucrative win thanks to Hansen’s penalty miss.
Kenny, who joined Celtic from Sligo Rovers on a five-year deal in January 2022, has yet to make his first-team debut for the Scottish champions.
The striker is now in his second successive season on loan at Shamrock Rovers and has netted 17 goals in 56 appearances for the Irish club.
