The Tennessee high school golf season begins Monday. Here is a look at the top TSSAA golfers in the Nashville area returning for the 2024 TSSAA season.
Girls
Brooke Bennett, Page, Jr. Bennett finished fourth overall in the Class AA state tournament last year. She shot a 72-74 (146) in two days and was just two strokes off a three-way tie for state runner-up. She averaged a score of 74 last year while capturing a District 12 tournament title.
Tatyana Greene, Cascade, Sr. Green returns after capturing the District 11-A championship with an 80, Region 6 runner-up (80) and finished tied for fifth at the state tournament with a 153 (77-76). She was the only junior to make the 2023 TSWA All-State team after an 18-hole average of 77.
Mattie Goad, Macon County, Sr. Goad averaged a 76 through 18 holes of play in 2023 and finished tied for seventh at the AA state tournament carding a pair of 76s (152).

Holly Hake, Ravenwood, Sr. Hake had a 39.1 nine-hole scoring average in 2023. She was tied for 17th at the AA state tournament after shooting a 160 (81-79).
Jackie Henderson, BGA, Sr. Henderson had a nine-hole average of 36.8 and finished third overall at the Division II-A state tournament with a 5-over, 143, that included a 68 on the first day of the TSSAA state tournament.
Ava Hayes, Goodpasture, Jr. Hayes shot a 78 to take District 4 tournament runner-up in Division II-A. She led Goodpasture to the district team title for the third year in a row and fired an 81 in the Middle Region tournament at Greystone Golf Course.
Isabella Johnson, PCA, Sr. The Tennessee commit shot every round at par or better during the 2023 season. She recorded a personal-best, 64, that captured the DII-A, District 3 title. She’s helped lead PCA to three straight team state championships.
Zoe Phillips, Clarksville, Sr. Phillips tied for 17th at the AA state tournament after shooting a 160 (82-78). She was the Region 7-AA runner-up (77) and won the District 13-AA title, and had an 18-hole scoring average of 79. This is her third straight season on the all-area team.
Shelby Smith, Stewart County, Jr. Smith was the District 10-A tournament runner-up and Region 5 runner-up. She finished 19th at the state tournament with a two-day total of 171 (83-88) and has won three Clarksville Junior Golf tournaments with an average of 76 this summer.
Natalee Wyatt, Stewart County, So. Wyatt captured the district title and finished third in the region tournament. She finished 16th at state (80-89-169).
Boys
Jason Cole Campbell, Summertown, Sr. He had an 18-hole average of 69.2 last season and finished third overall in the state tournament after carding a 1-under, 143, in the two-day tournament.
Maddox Crowder, Macon County, Sr. A Kentucky commit, Crowder led Macon County to a seventh place finish as a team in the Class AA state tournament. The 2021 state champ, who had a 18-hole average of 68 last year, finished tied for 13th last year at state. His seven-under, 65, on Day 2, was the lowest score of the final round in AA.
Jack Doyle, Brentwood, Sr. Doyle had a 38.5 nine-hole scoring average in 2023 while helping guide Brentwood to the Class AA team state title. He finished the postseason fifth overall in the Region 6Â tournament (68) and 12th at state with a 144 (74-70).
Leo Froio, BGA, Jr. Froio shot a 141 (71-70) during last year’s Division II-A state tournament to capture state runner-up. He was also the Middle Region tournament runner-up with a nine-hole season scoring average of 38.
Miguel de Garcia, FRA, Jr. Garcia tied for third at the DII-A state tournament after posting a even-par, 144 (71-73). He had a season and postseason average of 75 last year and was named TSWA All State.
William Hull, MBA, Sr. Hull shot a pair of 71s at the Sevier Golf Club during the 2023 Division II-AA state golf tournament last fall. His 142 total was good enough to finish sixth. His nine-hole scoring average was 37.24.
Sam Johnson, Brentwood, Sr. Johnson’s nine-hole scoring average was 36. He finished District 12 tournament runner-up after carding a 68. He captured the region title with a 65 and tied for 14th at state with a 146 (75-71).
Cooper Jones, Clarksville, Sr. Jones tied for fourth at the AA state tournament, shooting 3-under, 141 (71-70). He also tied for second at the Region 7 tournament (71) and shot 1-over or lower in six of 12 rounds last year.
Graham O’Neal, Brentwood, Jr. O’Neal finished third in the district tournament with a 68, third at region (78) and had a scoring average of 36.86. He tied for 22nd at state with a 150 (74-76).
Will Pinson, Franklin, Sr. Pinson placed third overall in the Class AA state tournament after a pair of 70’s led to a 140 total. He was a Region 6 runner-up with a nine-hole average of 34.
Thatsakon Phothong, Webb School – Bell Buckle, Fr. As an eighth-grader last year, Phothong had a 18-hole average of 69.74. He captured the Division II-A, District 3 title along with a Middle Region championship and the DII-A state title after firing a 4-under 140 (70-68).
Hayden Howell, Stewart County, Jr. Howell took fourth place in the Class A state tournament last year, shooting a 2-over, 145 (71-74). He had a nine-hole average of 37.37 has three four-place finishes in the Sneds Tour this summer.
