Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul is less than a month away, and now we have a full fight card to go with the controversial but colossal bout on Nov. 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions announced Thursday the complete Tyson vs. Paul undercard, topped by the highly anticipated rematch between Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) and Amanda Serrano (47-2-1, 31 KOs).
Taylor and Serrano sold out Madison Square Garden for their April 2022 thriller, which captured the Fight of the Year honors from several boxing outlets. On that occasion, the Irishwoman edged the Puerto Rican, winning a split decision (97-93, 96-94, 94-96) to retain her undisputed lightweight titles.
The pair were supposed to rematch last May, but Serrano sustained an injury and had to withdraw from the bout. She was replaced by Chantelle Cameron, who went on to upset Taylor in her homecoming, but the Irish legend prevailed in a rematch and became a two-weight undisputed champion after taking Cameron’s super lightweight belts — the titles that will be on the line for Taylor vs. Serrano 2.
Also on the card, Mario Barrios (29-2, 18 KOs) makes the first defense of his WBC welterweight title against Abel Ramos (28-6-2, 22 KOs).
Barrios previously held the WBA (Regular) super lightweight title that he lost in a competitive 11th-round TKO defeat at the hands of Gervonta Davis. In his next fight, he fell short to Keith Thurman, dropping a wide unanimous decision. Since then, Barrios has picked up three wins on the bounce and is hoping to continue the winning streak on Nov. 15.
Ramos enters the fight with Barrios as a major underdog, having lost three out of his last five bouts, and a seventh defeat could call curtains on a 13-year career.
In a battle of unbeatens at lightweight, Lucas Bahdi (17-0, 15 KOs) takes on Corey Marksman (10-0-1, 7 KOs). Bahdi produced a stunning one-punch turnaround to upset Ashton Sylve in July on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry undercard. Marksman recorded a career-best win on the same show by outpointing Tony Aguilar over eight rounds.
Featherweight contender Bruce Carrington (13-0, 8 KOs) also returns to the ring just seven weeks after his decision win over Sulaiman Segawa in New York. “Shu Shu” and Mike Tyson are both from Brownville, and according to Dan Rafael, it was Tyson who requested that Carrington be on the undercard. He faces Australia’s Dana Coolwell (13-2, 8 KOs) over eight rounds.
In a six-round bout, India’s Neeraj Goyat (18-4-2, 8 KOs) welcomes Brazilian social media sensation Whindersson Nunes (0-0) to professional boxing. Nunes boasts 58.7 million Instagram followers and has had one amateur contest, an exhibition, and three fights on Misfits/KingPyn influencer boxing cards.
On the preliminary card, one-time title challenger Shadasia Green (14-1, 11 KOs) gets a second shot at championship gold as she meets undefeated Canadian Melinda Watpool (7-0, 2 KOs) for the vacant WBO super middleweight title.
