Lincoln Riley ‘not getting into’ OU athletic director Joe Castiglione’s SEC move comments

NORMAN — On OU’s first official day in the SEC, athletic director Joe Castiglione appeared to hint at the idea former coaches had about the Sooners’ SEC move.

“I will tell you, without reservation, every coach that we talked to was excited,” Castiglione said. “And you know what, the ones that weren’t aren’t here anymore. This is Oklahoma. Either get with it or get on with it.”

When former OU head coach Lincoln Riley left for USC after the 2021 football season, some debated whether Riley’s exit was due to the conference move. Riley holds an 19-8 record in two seasons as the Trojans’ coach.

Riley was asked for his thoughts on Castiglione’s comments Wednesday during Big Ten Media Days in Indianapolis.

“I’m not getting into that,” Riley said. “Next question.”
