Orient reported a loss of £3.7m in their most recent accounts for 2023-34 despite posting record income of £7.7m.
The O’s have been playing at Brisbane Road since 1937 but have been open about their plans to build a new stadium in the near future.
Gandler is the co-founder and CEO of live streaming service FuboTV. He previously owned a 17% stake in French club Paris FC, but sold it last year.
“It is an honour for me to join Leyton Orient. At the beginning of this process I quickly became inspired by the club’s story and the fighting spirit that it has in it’s DNA,” Gandler said.
“I don’t intend on being too hands on with the day-to-day running of the club. Nigel, CEO Mark Devlin and his staff have done an incredible job on the business side and I have full confidence in them to keep us progressing.”
Orient, who currently occupy the last play-off spot in the League One table, take on Wycombe Wanderers in their final home fixture of the regular season on Saturday at 12:30 BST.
