Knoxville area’s best kickers and punters ahead of 2024 Tennessee high school football season


As teams get set for scrimmages, it is as good a time to examine the best players at each position.

Here’s a look at the top kickers and punters to watch in the Knoxville area entering the 2024 TSSAA football season.

Quinton Brandon

Greeneville, Sr.

Brandon was the Region 1-4A Specialist of the Year. He went 4-of-6 on field goals, including a long of 48 yards. He also averaged 39.2 yards on 24 punts and had a long of 50 yards.

Nathan Holbrook

Hardin Valley Academy, Sr.

Holbrook was the Region 2-6A Kicker of the Year. He punted 45.6 yards per game and had a long of 64 yards.

Daniel Kinney

Bearden, Sr.

Kinney was 7-of-13 on field goals, including a school-record 50-yard kick, and went 40-of-41 on PATs. He is the No. 34 kicker nationally, according to Kohl’s Kicking.

Ryan McCue

Farragut, Jr.

McCue was 7-for-9 on field goals and converted all of his PATs. He made the All-Region 2-6A team.

Gavin Menard

Knoxville Catholic, Sr.

Menard is the No. 55 kicker nationally, according to Kohl’s Kicking. He made the Division II-AAA East team after going 5-of-6 field goals and 45-of-46 on PATs.

Eli Pearson

Oak Ridge, Jr.

Pearson was the Region 3-5A Punter/Kicker of the Year. He averaged 35.2 yards on punts, was 5-of-8 on field goals and 49-of-50 on PATs.

William Pendergrass

Bearden, Sr.

William Pendergrass is rated a 4.5-star punter on Kohl’s Kicking. He averaged 37 yards per punt.

Dylan Stooksbury

Powell, Sr.

For his career, Stooksbury has 15 field goals, 168 PATs, 31 touchbacks and will be a four-year starter.

Jackson Treece

Coalfield, So.

Treece was 1-of-2 on field goals and 49-of-52 on PATs. He averaged 45.7 yards on kickoffs and had five touchbacks.
