Jul. 30—Owner of Somerset Martial Arts, Ian Lawler, retired from pro MMA with a huge win. After 12 professional Mixed Martial Arts fights, 44 fights in total between amateur and professional career, Lawler laid down his gloves on Friday after his win at the Aries Fight Series at the famous Cotton Eyed Joes, in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Lawler finished his fighting career with an impressive pro record of 7-4-1, a total combined mark of 37-7.
Lawler, who is planning to open another martial arts school in Danville, Kentucky, has owned and operated his own martial arts school in Somerset for nearly a decade.
Lawler has a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology and is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is also a military veteran having served as a Navy Corpsman assigned to a Marine Combat Unit for six years.
