Evans putting no pressure on City return

Lisa Evans says she’s not putting any pressure on herself to win trophies at Glasgow City following her return to the club.

After missing out on the SWPL title and a Champions League spot last year, Leanne Ross’ side are eyeing up a return to the top.

The Scotland international re-joined the club this summer and was asked if she felt pressure to help the team reclaim success on the BBC’s Behind the Goals podcast.

“I wouldn’t say so,” Evans responded.

“I wouldn’t put that pressure on myself. I know if I’m fit, available and working hard then I will in some way be able to help the team.

“I’m not putting the pressure on myself to win every game because I’m there. I just want to take it week by week, giving myself the best chance to be the best I can be.

“Hopefully then I can help the team be successful whatever that may be, whether it’s a league title we’ll see.”
