Wigan Warriors hooker Brad O’Neill is facing a long spell on the sidelines after suffering a serious knee injury in their defeat by Warrington last week.
The 22-year-old was forced off after 50 minutes of Friday’s 40-4 home loss.
“In terms of timeframe, whatever I say could be wrong but you’re looking upwards of nine months,” head coach Matt Peet told the club website.
“Brad did his other ACL as a junior player so he kind of knew what it was and he knows how to rehab it.”
O’Neill scored three tries in 16 Super League appearances this season and made his England debut against France in June.
