At Big 12 Media Days on Wednesday, Colorado football coach Deion Sanders was asked what he liked about the Buffaloes this season.
“I expect Tyler Brown to start at left guard,” Sanders told ESPNs Andre Ware. “He (Brown) could not play last year, but I look forward to him playing this year.”
Brown, a 6-foot-3, 315-pound left guard, missed last season after being ruled ineligible by the NCAA. He was denied immediate eligibility due to a two-transfer rule.
Under the new NCAA guidelines, a second-time transfer can only “receive immediate eligibility if they have a physical injury or mental health condition that pushed them to transfer from a school.”
Brown played for Sanders at Jackson State, where he was an AP FCS third team All-American. He was first team All-SWAC offensive lineman as well. He also led an offensive line that put up 37.7 points a game and was the No. 1 offense in the SWAC.
Colorado joined the Big 12 after the 2023 season, Sanders’ first season with the Buffaloes. The Buffaloes were 4-8 last season after starting 3-0.
