One of the hardest things for a guy like Lionel Prudhomme to do is to keep up with his recruiting offers.
The Captain Shreve senior interior offensive lineman is up to at least 17. Arkansas, Texas Tech, Missouri, Houston, Ole Miss and Mississippi State are among the schools seeking his services.
“The attention has been very enjoyable,” Prudhomme told the USA TODAY Network recently. “The attention has actually been rising over the course of the summer.”
The 6-foot-3, 305-pound Prudhomme is Louisiana’s No. 26 overall recruit according to 247Sports and the No. 43 lineman in the country. He was supposed to work in tandem with LSU commitment Devin Harper, but the highly rated Harper left the Gators for Calvary earlier this year. Prudhomme plans to announce his college choice later this month.

“The things I look for in a school is how well the coaches have a relationship with their players. I look at how the coaches run their program. I look at how well the locker room atmosphere is, and I also look at how the college can develop me and help me make it to the league,” said Prudhomme, who will play both ways for Shreve this fall. “Most of the colleges I have offers from are looking at me for offense.”
The big man said he has already visited eight schools.
“And once I make my decision, I most and likely won’t be visiting any other schools except the school I have chosen,” he said.
