Oddsmakers at Florida’s only legal sportsbook are going with two past major champions over 54-hole leader Billy Horschel in Sunday’s final round of the British Open at Troon.
Hard Rock Bet established PGA champion Xander Schauffele at +300 and two-time Masters champion and two-time defending Players Champion Scottie Scheffler at +350. Horschel is listed at +550.
Horschel, at 4-under, leads Schauffele, Sam Burns, Russell Henley and Thirstan Lawrence by one shot. Scheffler is 2-under and 11 players are within four shots of Horschel to start the round.
The oddsmaker in this case clearly giving Scheffler and Schauffele more love for their past major titles, while Horschel, a Ponte Vedra Beach resident and native of Grant who played college golf at the University of Florida, is still seeking his first.
Horschel has won eight times on the PGA Tour.
