Tijuana manager Juan Carlos Osorio was given his marching orders only 12 minutes into Los Xolos’ opening game in Leagues Cup 2024 against LAFC Friday evening.
The BMO Stadium showdown came to a screeching halt when Christian Rivera went down with a serious head injury, and Tijuana were already behind after an early LAFC strike.
After the head-to-head challenge that resulted in Rivera’s injury, Osorio appeared to simply lose his marbles with the linesman, going face-to-face with the official before almost immediately being sent off.

Tempers have been flaring all around Leagues Cup this evening, but this incident was more than the tip of the iceberg.
Los Xolos will now have to fight back without their head coach and starting midfielder after a disastrous opening half-hour.
