New Business: Airpark opens at Ryan’s in North Conway; TOUR Golf & Grill adds mini-golf

Jul. 19—GET READY to jump around.

Yes, like that old House of Pain song with the lyrics, “Jump up, jump up, and get down.”

Ryan Family Amusements in North Conway opened a new 5,000-square-foot “airpark,” or a “massively bouncy play structure” as they call it. The airpark includes trampolines, bounce houses and obstacle courses and features slides, tunnels, climbing walls, obstacles and more.

Zack McCaul, Ryan’s director of operations, said the airpark is perfect for all ages.

“Adults get to kick off their shoes and just be kids for a little while,” he said in a statement. “It’s a fantastic way for the whole family to play together.”

Ryan’s said it tripled in size after taking over the space previously occupied by Old Navy at Settlers Green Outlet Village. A kitchen and bar offering pizza, hot pretzels, beer, wine and more is next up.

Ryan’s, known for family-friendly entertainment for more than six decades, first opened an arcade at Settlers Green.

“We got a tremendous response when we opened the expanded game room, so we knew there was a desire for more indoor activities in the region,” said McCaul. “Between the addition of the airpark and our food and beverage offerings, we’re excited about the party possibilities ahead.”

Airpark sessions cost $19.95 per hour with reduced pricing for juniors.

Putt-putt patio

Tour Golf & Grill has added a family-friendly mini-golf course to its large patio.

The restaurant at 581 Lafayette Road is known for its “upscale sports bar atmosphere, featuring scratch cooking, Friday-night live music, five indoor golf simulators, and private event space,” according to a news release.

The new mini-golf course consists of nine uniquely themed holes, including Puddle Ducks, Under the Sea and Golf with Gators.

“This new course adds a fun, family-friendly activity that complements our existing offerings and enhances the overall experience for our guests. Our goal has always been to create lasting memories through the union of golf and hospitality,” owner Ryan Lent said in a statement.

Sports vibes

EndZone Bar & Grill is now open at 421 Central Ave. in Dover.

The menu features “Pre-Game,” “The Field, “Half-Time” and “Red Zone — Smash Burgers,” “Open Court,” “Super Fans,” “Side Line” and “Finish Line.”

All burgers are $13.95 with add-ons.

To offer an authentic shrimp po’boy, the restaurant went the extra mile and orders its French bread directly from New Orleans ($16.95).

Famous diner, new owner

The Peterborough Diner is not only celebrating its 75th anniversary, it also has new owners: Melanie Neily and Greg and Krystal Sherwin.

The restaurant at 10 Depot St. is a historic 1950s Worcester Lunch Car Diner (WLC #827) and is famous for being the first painted in green and cream, according to its newly launched website, peterboroughdiner.com.

For those really hungry the diner offers the “Hungry Traveler,” four eggs, four pieces of bacon and sausage, four pancakes or French toast, home fries and toast for $32. A more modest egg sandwich is $6, or $7 with meat.

Alcohol offerings

Tori’s Place in Colebrook now offers a selection of alcoholic beverages, but it has created somewhat of a stir.

The bakery/restaurant at 3 Pleasant St. is known for its doughnuts, sandwiches and ice cream.

“There seems to be disgruntled folks about me offering beer & wine in the cafe,” owner Tori Letarte wrote on Facebook. “We are not just a donut shop, we are striving to offer so much more and continue to grow our business and our Main Street.”

A new “afternoon socials” appetizer menu will soon be offered after 1 p.m.
