The Postage Stamp at Royal Troon is one of the most famed par 3s in the world — for good reason. Playing around 120 yards, the eighth hole at this week’s 2024 British Open has posed quite the challenge through 1 ½ days.
Just ask LIV Golf member Joaquin Niemann, who was 1 under for the day when he stepped to the eighth tee box.
Then his round went south in a hurry.
His tee shot found the right greenside bunker. His second was sent into the back left bunker. His third didn’t get out. His fourth ended up in the front greenside bunker. Niemann hit his fifth to 26 feet.
Then he three-putted.
In the end, it was a quintuple-bogey eight for the Chilean.
