Jürgen Klopp has rebuffed an approach to take over the United States’ national team.
According to the Athletic’s David Ornstein, the former Liverpool manager was sounded out following Gregg Berhalter’s sacking on Wednesday.
But Klopp is understood to have turned down the proposal after beginning a break following the end of his nine-year tenure at Anfield.
The US Soccer Federation, however, are said to be interested in still installing the 57-year-old as their next permanent head coach.
Berhalter’s dismissal at the USMNT’s helm arrived after a disappointing exit from this summer’s Copa América group stage in their homeland.
