Liverpool are convinced that Inter star Marcus Thuram could be the ideal striker to strengthen Arne Slot’s side and could try to tempt him with a lucrative offer despite his apparent reluctance to leave the Stadio San Siro.
Thuram joined the Nerazzurri as a free agent in the summer of 2023 and has since established himself as one of the best strikers in Serie A, with his combination of strength, pace and finishing inevitably catching the eye of several clubs around Europe.
However, the 27-year-old recently claimed he loves the stadium where he’s currently playing, but Liverpool still believe they could have their own cards to play to persuade the forward to change his mind.
Liverpool’s plan to lure Thuram away from Inter
According to calciomercato.com, recent rumours about Liverpool’s interest in Marcus Thuram were confirmed as the Reds would be considering whether to make a concrete move to lure the player to Anfield by offering him a significantly higher salary than his current €6m per season.
Striking a deal with Inter for the former Borussia Monchengladbach striker would be the easier part of negotiations, as the Reds could simply trigger the €85m release clause included in Thuram’s contract.
However, Thuram is reportedly willing to extend his stay in Milan unless the Nerazzurri force him away in an attempt to make a huge capital gain after signing him as a free agent.
