[autotag]Marlon Vera[/autotag] and [autotag]Deiveson Figueiredo[/autotag] meet in a pivotal bantamweight clash at UFC on ABC 7. This bout scheduled for three rounds is taking place Saturday, Aug. 3 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
Vera (23-9-1 MMA, 15-8 UFC) enters the bout roughly five months removed from his failed attempt at claiming the 135-pound title from Sean O’Malley at UFC 299. Vera has vowed to “make an example” of Figueiredo, who is determined to add his name to the UFC record books.
A former flyweight champion, Figueiredo (23-3-1 MMA, 12-3-1 UFC) has won his first two bouts at bantamweight against Rob Font and former champ Cody Garbrandt. A third victory against Vera just might be the breakthrough he needs to be taken seriously in the division.
