Social media reacts to Colorado’s official return to the Big 12 Conference

A new era of college athletics began on Friday as the Colorado Buffaloes, Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils and Utah Utes officially joined the Big 12 Conference. All four programs — along with six others — left the Pac-12, which now houses only the Washington State Cougars and Oregon State Beavers.

Colorado was in the Big 12 (previously known as the Big Seven and Big Eight) from 1948-2010 before joining the Pac-12. During those 60-plus years, CU football won six conference championships and the program’s lone national title in 1990.
