Vaclav Cerny is aware of the pressure placed upon Rangers players, but insists he has “no problem” dealing with expectations.

Cerny is one of nine new summer signings boss Philippe Clement has brought in to Ibrox ahead of the new season.

“You could compare it to Ajax in terms of expectations, pressure and crowd,” the Czech Republic international told the press.

“It was also something I really wanted to experience again. I am expecting this to be on a higher level than Amsterdam.

“I’m a person puts expectations high and demands the most from myself, so I have no problem of people expecting it from us or myself.”

Cerny arrives off the back of the European Championships, appearing once in a 1-1 group stage draw versus Georgia, and admits he is likely not ready to start yet.

“After the Euros I had a nice little break but I couldn’t wait to come here, to get started with everyone. I don’t think I’m able to start yet but I’m definitely ready to help.

“I had a few trainings with the lads and everybody welcomed me well, and made me feel comfortable from day one. I just can’t wait to get on the pitch and be helpful for this club.”
