Jahsiear Rogers is only halfway through his high school football career.
But the speedy wide receiver has already decided where he will play at the next level.
Rogers, a junior who played his first two seasons at Red Lion Christian but has transferred to Appoquinimink, committed to Penn State on Saturday, according to Lions247.
The 5-foot-10, 165-pound receiver made his decision after attending Penn State’s annual Lasch Bash recruiting barbecue, Lions247 reported.
“It feels great to be around Penn State,” Rogers told Lions247. “It feels like you’ve known the coaches for years. I love that they are excited to have me there and want me to be part of what they have going on. They are great people to be around.”
Lions247 reported that Rogers received an offer from Penn State on June 18 after testing individually for Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin, running the 40-yard dash in the low 4.3 range and broad jumping nearly 11 feet.
Rogers caught 29 passes for 642 yards and eight touchdowns as a sophomore at Red Lion Christian last season.
He is the third commitment in Penn State’s 2026 recruiting class, according to Lions247, joining running back Messiah Mickens of Harrisburg (Pa.) and quarterback Troy Huhn of San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills.
