With the season approaching, LSU is looking to put an exclamation mark on a big summer of recruiting. Later this week, five-star receiver target [autotag]Kaliq Lockett[/autotag] will announce his decision.
LSU has been battling some of the usual suspects for the elite receiver, including Alabama and Texas. Other finalists include Texas A&M and Florida State.
According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Lockett is the No. 17 overall recruit in the class and the No. 3 wide receiver. 247Sports is the highest on Lockett, ranking him No. 12 overall and No. 2 at his position.
LSU has its work cut out for it here. The Longhorns are heavy favorites to land Lockett according to the On3 Prediction Machine.
The Tigers have been in the mix with a few of this cycle’s top receivers. The nation’s No. 1 receiver [autotag]Dakorien Moore[/autotag] originally committed to LSU before decommitting and pledging to Oregon. LSU is also in pursuit of five-star Florida product [autotag]Jaime Ffrench[/autotag].

LSU’s 2025 class ranks top three nationally with three five-stars already on board. If LSU lands Lockett, the Tigers would tie Alabama for the most five-stars this cycle with four.
Lockett would join a class that includes two blue-chip receivers in [autotag]Derek Meadows[/autotag] and [autotag]Taron Francis[/autotag].
