TULSA, Okla. — Many of the best female amateurs in the world are at Southern Hills Country Club battling it out in the 124th U.S. Women’s Amateur.

Although Nos. 1-3 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking aren’t in the field, Nos. 4-6 and 8-10 are, as are seven more players in the top 25. They’re all taking on the famed course in Tulsa, which hosted the 2022 PGA Championship.

Megan Schofill, a recent Auburn graduate, is the defending U.S. Women’s Amateur champion, having topped Latanna Stone 4 and 3 last year at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles. She’s back to defend her title.

Other than Schofill, here are 10 players to watch at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur.

Zoe Campos

Campos is the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 4 in WAGR, and she played in the U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links in 2023 and was also a part of the 2024 Palmer Cup team.

Catie Craig

Craig won the North & South Women’s Amateur at Pinehurst No. 2 this summer and finished third in the first edition of the Women’s Elite Amateur Golf Series.

Gianna Clemente

Clemente is one of the top rising amateurs in the game and a USGA champion. The 16-year-old made the cut at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and was in the final pairing, placing T-5.

Anna Davis

She reached the quarterfinals of the U.S. Women’s Amateur last year and represented the U.S. in the Junior Solheim Cup in Spain, Junior Ryder Cup in Italy, Women’s World Amateur Team Championship in Abu Dhabi and Pan American Games in Chile last year.

Jasmine Koo

Koo has been one of the best juniors in golf this summer. The incoming freshman at USC finished runner-up at the U.S. Girls’ Junior in California last month.

Rachel Kuehn

The 2023 NCAA champion with Wake Forest, Kuehn is a big-game hunter. She loves competitions on the biggest stage. In one of her last events as an amateur, don’t expect anything different.

Rianne Malixi

Malixi, 17, is competing in her second USGA championship this summer, fresh off a victory in the 2024 U.S. Girls’ Junior at El Caballero Country Club, where she topped Asterisk Talley in the final.

Kiara Romero

Romero won the 2023 U.S. Girls’ Junior in Colorado Springs, Colorado, last summer. She was also among 12 players to receive invites to the U.S. Curtis Cup squad in December.

Amanda Sambach

Sambach has made the cut each of the past two years at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Sambach was also on the Curtis Cup practice squad and made match play at the U.S. Women’s Amateur last summer.

Bailey Shoemaker

Last year, Shoemaker reached the Round of 16 in the U.S. Women’s Amateur and the Round of 64 in both the Women’s Amateur Championship in England and the U.S. Girls’ Junior. Also finished runner-up in the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
