Former Manchester United and Spain shot-stopper David de Gea is in talks with Serie A side Genoa over a potential move to the Serie A, more than 12 months after he last played professional football.
The Spaniard spent 12 years with the Red Devils after joining them from Atlético de Madrid, but his deal ran out at the end of the 2022/23 season and it was not renewed, with the goalkeeper leaving Old Trafford after making 545 appearances.
He has spent the time since without a club, but is now set to be offered a route back into the game as he holds talks with Genoa about a potential move to the Serie A side, where he would replace Josep Martinez, who moved to Inter earlier in the window.
