Manchester City have entered into an agreed sanction agreement with the Premier League over 22 breaches related to kick-off delays over the last two seasons.
As confirmed by the Premier League on Wednesday, the club will be fined £2.09m.
“The club has apologised and reminded its players and management teams of their responsibilities,” read the Premier League statement.
City’s hearing into the 115 charges of alleged financial misconduct handed down by the Premier League in 2023 is expected to take place later this year.
“Rules relating to kick-offs and re-starts help ensure the organisation of the competition is set at the highest possible professional standard and provides certainty to fans and participating clubs. It also ensures the broadcast of all 380 League matches around the world is kept to schedule,” the Premier League added.
