Celtic’s lengthy wait to sign a goalkeeper is now over after completing the signing of veteran Kasper Schmeichel.
The Scottish champions were forced to add a new number one following the retirement of Joe Hart this summer.
They have now gotten their man with the addition of Schmeichel, who was available on a free transfer after leaving Anderlecht upon the expiry of his contract.
The 37-year-old has signed a one-year deal at Parkhead which includes an option to extend by a further 12 months.
Schmeichel was an integral part of the Leicester City side which famously won the Premier League against all odds in 2016.
During his time at King Power Stadium, he also worked with current Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers, where they helped the side to an FA Cup and multiple top five finishes.
It is expected that the Denmark international, who once spent a spell on loan at Falkirk, will be joined by Aston Villa’s Viljami Sinisalo as understudy.
