Angel City FC fans were up on their feet on Thursday to welcome Christen Press back to action after a lengthy injury battle.
The United States Women’s National Team star was sidelined for over two years (781 days) following an ACL injury in June 2022.
During that time away, she underwent four surgeries and missed the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup for the USA before returning to the pitch during Thursday’s clash against the San Diego Wave.
Press eventually stepped up and slotted home her spot kick as Angel City won the Summer Cup match on penalties.
